The active participation of workers in health and safety management occurs continuously, especially in the preparation of the Preliminary Risk Analysis (APR), which is fully completed by the workers themselves before the start of activities, and is subsequently validated by the SESMT.
Representatives of the Internal Accident Prevention Committees (CIPAs) monitor inspections, receive incident reports and contribute to improvements in risk identification and occupational safety processes. The RMP and the Occupational Health Medical Control Program (OHMCP) are continually reviewed, with access guaranteed to all employees. As for ergonomic work assessment, interviews and direct observations ensure that working conditions are adjusted for the well-being of all professionals
During the survey and assessment of hazards and risks for the preparation of the Risk Management Program (RMP), interviews were conducted and the activities of workers were monitored. The same procedure was adopted in the Ergonomic Work Assessment (EWA), with interviews and direct assessments during the execution of tasks.
Norte Energia maintains an active CIPA in its units in Pará (Belo Monte HPP, Pimental HPP and Altamira offices) and at its headquarters in Brasília (DF), in accordance with NR-05. These committees hold regular monthly meetings and extraordinary meetings in the event of serious accidents. Its independent performance ensures that the decisions are implemented by the organization, which also monitors the compliance of the CIPA committees of subcontracted companies.
