Norte Energia S.A. is a publicly traded Brazilian private company in the electricity generation and trading sector, responsible for the operation, maintenance and exploration of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Complex, located in the southwest of the state of Pará, in Northern Brazil, and which uses the hydroelectric potential of the Xingu River.
With administrative headquarters in Brasília (DF), the Company concentrates its operational activities in the cities of Altamira (PA), the central hub of the project within the region, and Vitória do Xingu (PA), 60 km from Altamira, where the two plants that comprise the Belo Monte Complex are located.
