Drinking water consumption is monitored daily by a contracted company based on readings from water meters installed in all the WTPs at the Belo Monte and Pimental HPPs. The contracted company issues weekly reports on the operation of the WTPs. In 2023, we recorded an increase in water consumption due to the reduction in the discharge of sanitary effluent.
The reduction achieved is mainly due to the following factors:
