The botanical monitoring programs conducted by Norte Energia contribute to increasing knowledge about the region’s biodiversity. In 2023 and 2024, these efforts resulted in a list of 1,485 species considered vulnerable or threatened with extinction according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List criteria and MMA Ordinance No. 148/2022.

During this period, the number of critically endangered species stabilized, while there was a reduction in the number of threatened, vulnerable and near threatened species identified.

Total number of species included in the IUCN Red List and national conservation lists with habitats in areas affected by the organization’s operations, broken down by extinction risk level.
